Artist Statement
Jared Lennon is an actor, writer, and filmmaker, based in Portland, Maine. Working primarily on comedy and farcical plays, his work aims to bring laughter to audiences, while also capturing authentic connections through reflection of real human emotions and stories. What many consider to be his best work, Jared won 2025’s BroadwayWorld Maine Best Performer in a Play (Non-Professional) award for his role in Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors. Jared is a born storyteller, from his childhood years of imaginative, unfolding stories he'd create with his action figures, to the realization of dozens of playwrights' and screenwriter's visions. He hopes to inspire audiences through his work and give them an opportunity to escape from the troubles of their own world. His work strives to instill hope, positivity, laughter, and overall human connections within audiences. That’s the beautiful thing about theatre and art. It’s a communal experience that we should be able to share. It’s an opportunity to come together to laugh, cry, ponder, and ask questions. Jared’s goal is to try and make the world a better place, and while it may seem like a small contribution to some, if his art can impact just one person, it will be worth it.
